Francistown Team Wins Botsogo Cup |

BY CALISTUS KOLANTSHO Francistown A team has won the Botsogo Tuli bowling Tournament that was held in Selebi Phikwe over the weekend. Position two went to Francistown team D, position three was taken by Selebi Phikwe team A. Gaborone team A came fourth while Francistown team C was in position five. The bowling tournament held over the weekend, was sponsored to the tune of P10 000 by Botsogo Health Plan. Speaking before the tournament commenced, Allen Mcgavey of the Selebi Phikwe Diversification Unit (SPEDU), said the government has released P5 Million to be used to diversify the economy of Selebi Phikwe. He mentioned that the government has the interest of this town at heart. Mcgavey said everything is possible if there is motivation from the community, and if people are not taking part, the whole thing will just be a waste of time. He also called upon investors to come and invest in Selebi Phikwe. Selibe Phikwe West Member of Parliament, Kavis Kario said a nation without sports has no future. He observed that bowling was growing in Botswana and it is encouraging to see that the sport has a future. Kario also commended the private sector for assisting different sports codes through sponsorship.
