He said this means a lot of excitement next season as these teams will fight to get promotion to the premier league. Slow Molosankwe; Letlapeng Secretary said their promotion to the First Division shows that they have matured as a club. He said they pose a lot of threat to other teams in the 1st division, “We are not scared of any team”. Letlapeng played 8 games during the payoffs, four last weekend and 4 this weekend and they won all except one drawn game against Kumakwane Checkers. Molosankwe said they have good players to fight the tough test in the 1st division. “We are not changing our players but we will boost the squad”. Letlapeng has three players they got from Killer Giants, States’, Seema’ and Cimi’ who play excellent football. However they not sure if Killer Giants will want them back. The team also has two players in the national under-20 team. Letlapeng key players such as Patrick Magosi are in demand and wanted by other teams Last year Letlapeng won a tournament sponsored by Shell in Ramotswa unfortunately. The known rivalry between Killer Giants and Letlapeng is likely to be taken to other heights because of the latter’s promotion. Their Coca Cola clash this weekend will indicate he extent of the animosity. It has to be noted thought that Kumakwane qualified on top of Letlapeng in the play-offs log. Carlos Kalaote –Chairman Killer Giants said it is a good challenge them to play with Letlapeng in the same division. He said it is good for the football in the region and in Ramotswa particularly. “We needed a team that we could compete with as we did not have competition in Ramotswa. There will be an exciting local derby to the fans, this will draw big numbers to the stadium,” he said. This weekend’s Coca-Cola clash with Letlapeng means fireworks and they are in high morale because they have just being promoted into the first division. “We are recruiting players but we not in a state to comment if we will be interested in taking players who used to play for us who went to join Letlapeng. They are good players but no comment for getting them back,” he added. |
