By Albert Lekgaba In the first ever competition of its kind in Botswana, 18 enthusiasts pitted their wits in what proved to be any uphill battle to win a car - placing their hands on it for the longest time they could. The last person standing was to drive away a brand new VW Golf. From 9:30am on Saturday at the Riverwalk Shopping Mall the saga continued until the next day at 14:45pm with only four contestants remaining in the endurance contest. It all began with buying a minimum of four Colgate products to enter the competition from which the finalists were chosen. Unfortunately after holding on to the dear car for 29 torturous hours the competition had to be terminated. The prospective winners were all too exhausted to continue with some of them had blisters on their hands. It was decided that the enduring foursome lift their hands off the car at the same time and be rewarded with the money equivalent to price of the car that they would share. The first person to quit left the scene just 4 hours after the starting time. On Saturday seven of them threw in the towel. The names of the four winners are Harry Motlhopi, Barulaganye Mashate, Lorato Garuwane, and Bondiwe Magocha. Congratulations.
